The Maharashtra State Mining Corporation Ltd., (MSMC) is a State owned Mining Company established on 14th Nov. 1973 and is registered under Companies Act 1956. MSMC is engaged in exploitation of different industrial Minerals namely

The Corporate workings are as per the Directives of the Board of Directors. The Board is constitute by the Government of Maharashtra. Its Chief Executive is Managing Director, who is appointed by the Governor of Maharashtra, and acts as per the powers, delegated to him by the Board of Directors/Government. The powers are sub-delegated to the senior officers to run the workings smoothly. The employees have to work as per the directives of their Controlling Officer.

The meetings of Board of Directors are conducted at least once in every three calendar months to discuss on the business & carry out decision making processes.

The functions are carried out under the preview of various Acts, Rules, Regulations and orders made there under e.g. Mines Safety as per the directives of Directorate of Mines Safety. Records are being kept under the various Regulations Rules Acts laid down by Indian Bureau of Mines, Regional Labour Commissioners/Labour Enforcement officer & also under Company’s Act, laws. The Corporate Office falls under the shops & Establishment Act of the Government of Maharashtra. The mines are governed by MMR 1961 & also applicable Industrial Dispute Act

MSMC’s working as “Shell Agency” is in accordance with the State Mineral Policy 1999 to perform various functions. Mineral Development fund is distributed in accordance with the ordinance/State Mineral Policy formulated by the Govt. of Maharashtra.

Meetings of the Board, Councils, Committees & other bodies are held as & when required. The proceedings of such meetings are recorded in the proceeding Book. The proceedings can be furnished to Public if demanded under Right to Information Act 2005.

We are paying the monthly remuneration to the employees as per the recommendations of the 4th pay Commission & following directives of the Govt. of Maharashtra in this regard.

At present, MSMC has not received any plan budgetary assistance from the Govt. of Maharashtra.
